body Teaser thinline model (made in Germany), 2 piece roasted pine, roasted ash figured top
This high quality thinline TE-style body, based on vintage specifications, was manufactured in Germany. It features a two-piece roasted pine body enhanced with a roasted figured ash top. Pine was used by Fender in the early ‘50s for the first edition Telecaster bodies. While it wasn’t much used after that, companies like Fender and other USA boutique builders currently build USA-made Strats, Teles, and basses out of roasted pine. This wood has risen in popularity because it looks great and offers a light-weight alternative for more traditional ash and alder woods.

Roasted woods are kiln dried by slowly heating the wood. It’s dried out until it reaches 0% moisture content. The temperature is then raised considerably and the wood cooks for several more hours. The wood is then cooled and restored to 6 to 7 percent moisture. After the roasting process, the wood looks darker in hue and just like an older, naturally aged piece of wood on a cellular level.

The quality of milling and detailing is remarkably high. Before finishing this body, it only needs minor sanding. The neck pocket may be very tight and may need some sanding to make a snug fit for the neck you will use. Even though this body is of the highest quality wood, wood is still a natural product and the body you order, may look a bit different than the picture.

The wood used for this body is PEFC certified. The PEFC certificate ensures the wood comes from controlled sources and sustainably managed forests. By closing the chain from the forest to the final product, for every tree harvested a new one comes back. This is because every PEFC-certified forest owner is obliged to ensure planting of young trees after harvesting. This keeps new trees continuously available and helps to maintain forests and combat climate change. CO2 remains stored in the certified wood products as new plantings absorb CO2 as well.

The weight of the bodies currently in stock of this type is 1,3kg +/- 10%
